Meet Our Founder
Hi, Visitor! My name is Alex. I’ve been training Martial Arts over 37 years so for me it is not just a physical routine but the way of life. I started practice Wu Shu (Kung Fu) in the first grade of University at the age of 16 and the first 10 years I was intensively involved in competitions (Gold Medal 1989, Dragon Style, Soviet Union Championship, etc.). As a member of Russian national Wu Shu team, I also trained with Chinese Olimpic team in Beijing. For many years I was an owner of Wu Shu club in Moscow (more than 400 members) so I have dozens of years of experience teaching and training people. After I left Russia in 1993 I started training Aikido in Zurich with Ikeda Sensei (8 Dan) and regular visited Tissier Sensei (8 Dan) in Paris. I have no ambition to call myself a martial arts “star” 🙂 but I do believe I have some knowledge to share in this area and I will be happy to have you “on board”! You are very welcome to join our training any time!

We focus our training on four main areas: Qi Gong, Tai Qi Quan, Aikido and Wu Shu (Kung Fu). You can choose just to attend Tai Qi course, just Aikido course or get access to all training through monthly or atonement subscriptions. First of all, before to jump to any conclusions check our Video Tutorials section, choose the area of your main interest, watch some videos. They are just 1-3min long and you can learn things at your own pace and in small bits. The best option though of course is to experience training yourself. Experience always serves as our ultimate test and best ground for our judgment. Check day&time of our next training and come over!
Q1: Where I can find the schedule of Qi-Academia training?
Please visit the “Locations & Schedule” page. You can also access it in the navigation menu bar at the top of this website.
Q2: How much does it cost to join Qi Academia?
We train:
- Tai Qi Quan – 1 time per week,
- Wu Shu (Kung Fu) – 2 times per week,
- Aikido – 1 time per week
“Basic” monthly subscription of €28 you will give you access to Tai Qi and Wu Shu training (3 times/week),
“Ultimate” monthly subscription of €38 you will give you access to all training (including Aikido),
You can buy €40 (10-session) abonnement and you will not be bound to a monthly payment. This option is good for members who can not train regular and prefer occasional visits.
For €69 you can sign up to Tai Qi Quang 3-months course – “From Zero To Hero”. The course consists of 12 weekly sessions and last 3 months. You can enter into the course at any point. If you missed some sessions of 3 months cycle you will learn that material when the new cycle will start ( as you have paid for 12 sessions which will cover all material of the course).
For €16 you can sign up just for Aikido (1 training per week) sessions.

Q3: Can I join the group if I have never trained martial arts before?
Yes, the majority of our members joined us having no experience in martial art training. The first 2-3 months you will be mainly preparing your body and be improving your overall fitness. Strength, flexibility, relaxation and speed are not easily combined qualities. It does take a time to develop that set. Come over and be patient! 🙂
Q4: What do I need to bring for the training ?
Just normal training clothes. Nothing special.
In the martial arts field, it is not easy to find a Teacher who is passionate, generous and inspires you ! Alex knows how to create a great atmosphere between the Fighters. It makes the class even more enjoyable. He pays good attention to every single person present in his class. I always feel amazing after a class, I can feel how the training impacts my life… I just love it !!!
